It all started for me on my placement year whilst studying Entertainment & Events Management at Leeds Beckett University.
I landed myself a placement as a Marketing & Events Assistant which involved working across the flagship website and social networking platforms. I started to notice that marketing was going down the online route more and more every day, and generating more new visitors to the website to increase page views was becoming as pivotal as selling physical copies of the magazine. This is where my love for digital marketing began…
After graduating, I found a role at a fashion retailer as an Online Marketing Coordinator working across digital channels including social, email, SEO, PPC and affiliates. There was no end to what I could learn, whether it was driving traffic through our channels or working on social campaigns. I also handled the email marketing for the business and oversaw it from design through to delivery of the campaigns. Coding and HTML was sometimes thrown in there too!
That role led on to my current role as a Marketing Executive at Perform Group. I’ve always wanted to work in sport, and at Perform they’ve given me the opportunity to work on content strategies across all their online portals including Goal.com - the world’s biggest digital football destination, reaching over 60 million football fans. I’ve now moved onto Perform's newly formed Betting and Gaming division working on the planning and implementation of promotional campaigns of Perform Gaming content, apps and products.
